2CameraGuys -- a new concept
Evan Powell — February 28, 2012
"All I want to know is... what's the best camera for me? But camera reviews don't tell me that."
Sound familiar? Truth is, camera reviews are fine for camera geeks. But they don't help if you just want to know "What's the best camera out there for what I want to spend?" So instead of typical reviews, we're doing something different: We buy the most popular cameras in each price/style group, shoot them out against each other, and find the best camera of the bunch.
Are you interested in the new breed of superzoom cameras with zoom ranges up to 36x? We brought in four top-selling models and put them up against each other to see which was the best. You can see who won right here.
Maybe you want a dustproof, waterproof, indestructible pocket camera to kick around and abuse. Which camera is best? We brought in three top models and did a shootout. Here are the results.
Are you a serious photographer with a bit more cash on hand? The new mirrorless cameras may be just right for you. They take photos that rival the quality of DSLRs, but they're smaller and lighter. We bought five of the most popular models to test and compare. Which mirrorless camera was the best? See right here.
At 2CameraGuys.com, it is simple to find the best cameras, since they get our Best Camera Award. We focus on picture quality, price, features, and ease of use, without getting bogged down in technical details. We don't write 20-page reviews or score cameras on a 100 point scale; if that is what you want, you can find it elsewhere.
We've just launched 2CameraGuys.com so there will be content coming as we build. We've got more shootouts in the works....we're currently looking for the Best Pocket Cameras, the Best Pocket SuperZoom Cameras, and the Best low-priced DSLRs. Tests and comparisons are underway, and results will be posted here soon.
And by the way, we buy all of our test units new from camera retailers just like you do. When we are done testing, we sell them at a discount here. A great way to get an excellent price on a very slightly used camera.
Thanks for visiting, and write us anytime with your feedback or suggestions.

I read your reviews on the Super Zooms and enjoyed it;good job. However, saying that something is faster or better does not convey the same accuracy as; shutter lag was (x) and especially useful; vertical lines resolved at specific magnification n and f-stops. Perhaps the judicious use of limited precise specifications would be beneficial when combined with the excellent prose.
