MORE CAMERA NEWS
IN THE WORKS.......
BEST SUPERZOOMS UNDER $500
The Sony HX200V is in house and being tested. This shootout will be updated by the end of next week.
By the way, want a HUGE discount on a terrific Leica camera? The Leica V-LUX 3 24x superzoom camera is currently selling for $899 on Amazon, but you can get it for just $499. How? Order it as the Panasonic FZ150. The only difference is the brand name and an extra year of warranty--the cameras are identical.
MID-RANGE DSLRS under $1000
The new Canon T4i, at $949 with kit zoom lens, has just started to ship. This model will be added to the shootout of DSLRs under $1000 next month.
ENTRY-LEVEL DSLRS
Sony is now shipping the SLT-A37, an entry price DSLR for $600. This will be added to the Entry Level DSLR shootout in July. We will see if it can beat the current first place winner, the Canon T2i, for price and value.
COMPACT SUPERZOOM CAMERA UPDATE
The Olympus SZ-31MR, a compact superzoom camera that sports a whopping 24x zoom lens, gives the Panasonic ZS20 a solid run for the money as the best compact superzoom on the market, but at the end of the day falls a bit short. Here is the updated shootout.
NEW PREMIUM DSLRs: NIKON vs. CANON
Nikon made a strong move against Canon with the release of the D800 (36 MP, $3,000 body only). Canon responded by releasing the EOS 5D Mark III (22 MP, $3,700 body only). The comparison of these two models is underway.
